Seed Support System (SSS)

The program is designed to help the incubated startup companies with the Seed fund of upto INR 25 Lakhs. This seed fund supports startups to complete the development of product, launch, expand and grow their business. In exceptional cases, startups may be considered for funding of upto INR 1 Crore based on the need of startups and decision of Seed Support Management Committee (SSMC).

This program is supported by NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and monitored by SSMC.

Eligibility Criteria
  • The startup must be a company registered in India, preferably be a DPIIT registered/applied startup and should have completed a minimum 3 months of association with the incubator in its resident or virtual incubation program.
  • The startup should have developed clarity on Unique Selling Preposition (USP) through customer validation and value proposition for its targeted customers.
  • This support is not meant for Indian Subsidiaries of MNCs/foreign companies. Persons holding Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) would be considered as Indian citizens for the purpose of this scheme.
  • The shareholding by Indian promoters in the incubate startup should be at least 51%.
  • Preference will be given to startups, who have not availed any funding from any Government of India / State Govt. body

  • Review of startups for eligibility
Selection Process
  • Additional internal evaluation by the Incubator and/or due diligence
  • Startups pitch to the Seed Support Management Committee (SSMC)
  • Final decision on startup funding after considering the recommendations from the SSMC
  • Final Due diligence and formation of term sheet, financing structure and agreement
  • Issue of Sanction Order & Fund after the agreement
